Steel-Braided Door Frame Heater Wires for Kolpak Walk-Ins – Multiple Lengths and Foil Tape Option

These steel-braided replacement heater wires are offered in six lengths for compatible Kolpak walk-in cooler and freezer door-frame applications. A correctly selected door-frame heater supplies heat around the intended doorway perimeter to help control condensation and frost.

Choose the required heater length or the separate 2-inch-wide aluminum foil tape option. Each selection is a different item. The tape-only option does not include a heater, and this listing is not a package containing every length shown.

Available Heater and Tape Options

Selection Component Electrical Rating
233-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Listed at 115V; match the supplied heater label
223-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Listed at 115V; match the supplied heater label
235-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Confirm the exact marked voltage before ordering
247-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Listed at 115V; match the supplied heater label
259-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Listed at 115V; match the supplied heater label
271-inch heater wire Door-frame heating element Listed at 115V; match the supplied heater label
2-inch-wide aluminum foil tape Tape-only accessory; no heater included Not an electrical heating element

The listed heater lengths identify the available selections, not the width or height of the door. Confirm whether the required measurement refers to the heated section or the complete assembly, and check the connection-lead lengths separately.

Heater Wire and Foil Tape Are Different Components

The heater-wire selections provide the electrical heating component for a matching door-frame system. The aluminum foil tape selection is a separate accessory for applications that specify suitable foil tape; it does not produce heat and cannot replace a failed heater.

Do not use the product photographs as a package-contents list. A photograph showing heater wire beside a tape roll does not establish that every heater selection includes that roll. Confirm the contents of the specific heater selection before ordering additional installation materials.

Product Details

  • Part Classification: Commercial replacement heater wire and separately selected foil-tape accessory
  • Heater Application: Compatible heated door-frame assemblies on Kolpak commercial walk-ins
  • Heater Construction: Steel-braided wire
  • Heater Length: Determined by the selected option
  • Electrical Requirements: Match the selected heater's marked voltage, wattage, and equipment application
  • Tape Option: Aluminum foil tape, 2 inches wide
  • Manufacturer Reference: Must correspond to the individual heater supplied; one number does not identify every option

Before You Order

  • Identify the original heater: Record the full manufacturer part number and any electrical ratings printed on the heater or equipment documentation.
  • Match the required length: Compare the heated section, overall assembly length, connection leads, and original routing.
  • Verify voltage and wattage: A matching length does not establish electrical compatibility.
  • Check the connections: Compare lead arrangement, terminations, and the equipment wiring diagram.
  • Confirm the installation location: Verify that the replacement is specified for the door-frame circuit being repaired.
  • Review included materials: Confirm whether the selected heater already includes tape or other installation components.

Do not select a replacement solely because the equipment is Kolpak or because the wire looks similar. Match the specific door assembly and heater requirements before ordering. Do not shorten, splice, or modify the heating section unless the instructions for that exact heater expressly permit it.

When to Inspect the Door-Frame Heating System

Frost or condensation around the door jamb can indicate an inoperative heater or excessive moisture. A qualified technician should check the power supply and electrical connections before deciding that the heater needs replacement.

Also inspect the door gasket, alignment, and closing action. Replacing the heater alone may not correct moisture entering through a damaged seal or a door that does not close properly.

Installation and Electrical Safety

Installation and electrical servicing should be performed by qualified personnel. Disconnect all power sources before service, follow the equipment wiring diagram, and verify the replacement's electrical rating before connection.

Protect the heater from pinching, abrasion, and damage during installation. Follow the specified routing and mounting method. Foil tape is not a substitute for approved electrical insulation, connectors, or a correctly sized heater.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which heater length should I choose?

Match the original heater's required length and routing, then verify the electrical rating, connection leads, and manufacturer reference. Do not choose the nearest length based only on the door-opening dimensions.

Does the aluminum foil tape option include a heater?

No. That selection supplies the 2-inch-wide foil-tape accessory only. Select a heater-wire option when you need a replacement heating element.

Is foil tape included with every heater option?

Do not assume identical package contents across all lengths. Confirm what is supplied with the specific heater selection; the shared product photograph is not a contents list for every option.

Can I buy a longer heater and cut it to fit?

Do not cut or modify the heating section unless the manufacturer expressly authorizes it for that exact heater. Select the correct replacement length and electrical specification.

What voltage should I match?

Match the voltage marked on the supplied heater to the equipment's documented requirements. Most selections here are cataloged at 115V; confirm the exact marked rating for the 235-inch selection before ordering.

Will these fit every Kolpak walk-in cooler or freezer?

No. Door construction, heater routing, electrical requirements, and connections can differ. Confirm the equipment model, serial number, original heater reference, and door-frame configuration.

Can this be used as an evaporator defrost or drain heater?

Do not substitute it based on appearance or length. These selections are offered for matching door-frame applications; evaporator and drain heaters require their own verified specifications.

Does frost around the door always mean the heater has failed?

No. Excess moisture, electrical supply problems, and door-sealing issues should also be evaluated. Have the heater circuit and complete door assembly checked before replacing parts.
