Commercial Refrigeration Door Sweeps

Door-sweep selection guide: Identify the door brand, model and whether it swings or slides. Measure sweep length and blade height; match the mounting profile or screw-hole spacing. Unsure? Request fitment help.

Identify the manufacturer and door type

Check the door or equipment label for its manufacturer, model and serial number. Determine whether the door is hinged or sliding. Match the original sweep's cross-section and attachment style before selecting a replacement: a flexible sweep, wiper gasket and complete bottom-sweep assembly are not automatically interchangeable.

Measure the sweep and its mounting

Record the overall length, flexible blade height, attachment profile and mounting-hole spacing where applicable. Photograph the end of the old sweep and the door bottom. A matching length alone does not confirm fit.

Check the door before replacing the seal

Look for a torn or flattened blade, loose attachment and gaps at the threshold. Check door alignment and hinge condition too: a sweep cannot correct a sagging door. Compare clearance with the door moving and fully closed.

Door sweep questions

Is a sweep the same as a perimeter gasket?

A sweep seals the lower door edge; a perimeter gasket seals other edges of the door opening. Compare the installed part rather than choosing by the word gasket alone.

Can any sweep be cut to fit?

Do not assume it can. Confirm the selected part's construction, mounting and permitted trimming before modifying it.
